Black History Month: Fashioning in Gender & Hip-Hop

One of my pieces that was considered for the State University of New York Exhibition in Albany, this piece represents the struggle and redemption of women entering the Rap and Hip-Hop Culture with key celebrites such as Mary J. Blige, Salt n’ Pepa with thier MC DJ Spinderella & Queen Latifah. It honors these ladies in their own shoes and committing a stand against having women share the same spotlight. This piece uses various mediums such as watercolor, alcohol marker, and fine liners.
